Israeli drone strike kills seven Palestinians in southern Gaza

An Israeli drone attack on a Palestinian tent in Rafah killed seven people, as airstrikes continued across Gaza. The blockade has exacerbated a severe famine crisis, with hospitals struggling to operate under bombardment. Since October 7, 2023, Israeli strikes have killed over 53,000 Palestinians, according to Gaza's health ministry.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Seven Palestinians were killed and five others injured when an Israeli drone fired a reconnaissance missile at the tent of the Kasab family in the Al-Mawasi area of Rafah, located in the southern Gaza Strip.

Following the attack, the casualties were transported to the Red Cross Hospital in western Rafah for treatment.

This strike adds to the rising toll of Palestinian casualties, with a total of 85 killed since early Monday, as Israeli airstrikes continue to intensify across the Gaza Strip.

Earlier the same day, Khan Yunis was subjected to heavy aerial bombardment. During the attack, an Israeli undercover unit known as "Mista’arvim" carried out a targeted assassination of Ahmed Sarhan, a commander in the Al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades. Reports indicate he was killed in an armed confrontation, and his wife and children were taken into custody by Israeli forces.

The war continues to escalate, worsening the famine crisis in Gaza. The blockade has resulted in the closure of border crossings and the prevention of humanitarian aid from entering the Strip. In addition, ongoing attacks on hospitals have crippled many medical facilities, leaving civilians without proper medical care.

Israel’s blockade has effectively cut off essential supplies, including food, medicine, clean water, and humanitarian aid. As a result, the population—already suffering from the ongoing conflict—faces mass starvation, which has already claimed the lives of dozens of civilians.

According to the latest figures released by the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the total death toll from Israel’s military operations in Gaza has risen to 53,339, with 121,034 others injured since October 7, 2023.
